More clues to the mystery???????

The aircraft is not in the air. (duh, hello, the blades are in feather), sorry a little pilot humour.

The propeller was stationary when I took the picture.
The camera was not turned upside down for the picture.
There are no tricks, the icicles are pointing to the sky!
I took the picture from outside the aircraft standing about 15 feet in front of the propeller.
The answer is very simple, almost too simple.

Any more clues and I would give it away.

The few guesses I got were good but I got lost in all the technical physics associated with the comments.

Keep trying.

Gravity is still the culprit. I would say that moisture on the prop hub refroze during or after a shutdown in cold weather. If the weather is cold enough with perhaps the right wind direction to help, moisture can run along the sides of the prop hub and freeze as it collects and drips off. This could have happened as the prop was slowing on a shutdown where the icicles which formed on the "bottom half" of the prop hub ended up pointing upwards because that happens to be how the prop came to rest. Actually, the icicles could be pointing in any direction depending on how the prop is positioned. Or, the icicles could have formed after shutdown and then if the hub was rotated for any reason ie maintenance, the icicles could end up point upwards.

This is driving me nuts, I know it has to be a simple explanation, maybe the icicles just look like they are on the plane, maybe they were on the camera! Anyway can we have a deadline for answers, so I can get some sleep pretty please. thanks.
