Blades of Steel (Lames d'acier)
So, some of you know what these things are by now. Reference to an earlier blog they are good for the environment and are used for farming. Well, they are the steel blades of a propeller. Not on any plane I have seen but on a wind turbine. Out East they have wind farms where they will sometimes have hundreds of these turbines generating electricity.
When Jennilyn drove across the country she saw semi-trucks pulling these blades on a flatbed trailer. It was the longest trailer she ever saw.

In the foothills by Cardston, Alberta there is a ridge with 52 of these huge turbine windmills, the whooshing sound is quite amazing when standing beneath these huge structures. I believe they were adding to it, so there may be more now.
Yes on the x country trip, all traffic was halted in one town and overhead wires were having to be moved to let this huge flat deck, complete with a driver in a cab at the back driving the back wheels etc, manoeuvre through town!manouevering this massive
Incorrect info on the Loring AFB photo. That was the working and living area on the left of the runway as shown. All housing, Commissary, Movie hall, Swimming pool, Recreational Hall, Gas station, Radar, BX, NCO Club, Dinning Halls, etc.
The Weapons Storage area was on the right as the photo is shown.
